Industrial Hygiene & Safety
Our approach to industrial hygiene and safety not only focuses on the recognition, evaluation and control of hazardous exposures in your workspace, but anticipation and prevention of future issues before they develop.
What We Do
Hexavalent Chromium Exposure
Hexavalent chromium is an inhalation hazard, presented to welders who work with stainless steel
Quantitative /Qualitative Fit Testing
Fit Testing is an OSHA requirement for personnel who wear respirators in your facility
OSHA's Respirable Crystalline Silica Standard
Workers who are exposed to respirable crystalline silica dust are at increased risk of developing serious silica-related diseases
Applicability of Industrial Hygiene Regulations
Industrial hygiene is the science of anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling workplace conditions that may cause workers’ injury or illness. Industrial hygienists use environmental monitoring and analytical methods to detect the extent of worker exposure and employ engineering, work practice controls, and other methods to control potential health hazards.
To counter OSHA’s reactive regulatory approach, Peace Environmental is pro-active in that we act to anticipate and prevent issues before they become regulatory problems for our clientele.
In additon to these services, Peace Environmental has also successfully functioned on our client’s behalf to help litigate OSHA fines, and proposing mutual remedial solutions to reduce or eliminate the fines in their entirety.
Hexavalent Chromium Exposure Studies
Hexavalent chromium is an inhalation hazard, presented to welders who work with stainless steel. Peace Environmental can perform necessary air monitoring to assess exposures to your personnel and compare them with OSHA requirements to ensure compliance.
Quantitative /Qualitative Fit Testing
Fit Testing is an OSHA requirement for personnel who wear respirators in your facility. The purpose of the fit test is to provide a numerical value that identifies that the tested respirator fits and protects personnel from the contaminants in their work environment. This should be performed on an annual basis.
OSHA's Respirable Crystalline Silica Standard
Workers who are exposed to respirable crystalline silica dust are at increased risk of developing serious silica-related diseases. OSHA’ standard requires employers to take steps to protect workers from a potential over-exposure to respirable crystalline silica.
Noise Assessment & Control
All facilitities are required to conduct water sampling and/or visual monitoring to comply with the storm water general permit. Our environmental professionals provide the sampling kits, transportation, analysis and regulatory reporting for all required samples
Worksite Analysis
During the worksite analysis, the industrial hygienist measures and identifies exposures, problem tasks, and risks. The most effective worksite analyses include all jobs, operations, and work activities.
